asked the Minister for Social Welfare why the home assistance paid to destitute people cannot be sent to them in cases of illness or incapacity.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Home Assistance Payments.
45.
Public assistance authorities normally arrange for destitute persons who are ill or incapacitated to be paid assistance at their homes and I have no reason to think that this arrangement does not work satisfactorily.
Could the Minister tell me how the money can be paid at home when the social welfare agents have been removed from most parts of Ireland?
Agents do not pay home assistance.
Who pays it?
Home assistance officers.
Question No. 46 postponed.
