While there has been correspondence between my Department and the local authority regarding the replacement of this bridge, no firm proposal on the subject has been made to my Department in that time.

Is the Minister aware that neither his Department nor the Government have any responsibility for this bridge? Actually it is because of sheer dereliction of duty on the part of Mayo County Council that this bridge has not already been put up. I am asking the Minister if he can take some action to ensure that this council and its inefficient county engineer will take the necessary action to put up the bridge.
My Department are in correspondence with Mayo County Council on the subject. No firm proposal has come forward yet.
