Vol. 241 No. 9

Private Business. - Merchandise Marks (No. 2) Bill, 1969: First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to make provision in relation to the informative marking of containers in which goods are packed for sale by retail, to regulate the quantities of goods which may be packed in containers for such sale, to provide for matters connected with the matters aforesaid and to amend the Merchandise Marks Acts, 1987 to 1931. —Minister for Industry and Commerce.
Committee Stage ordered for Wednesday, 28th October, 1969.

I thought the Taoiseach said we had a lot of Estimates to do?

Deputy Sweetman undestands better, perhaps, than anybody in this House what "next Wednesday" means. It means not earlier than next Wednesday.

I also said that there was some urgent and important legislation to be done.

So quietly that I could not hear it.

Can we assume that the Criminal Justice Bill is not included in it?

I did not hear the Minister's second proposal for next Wednesday.

The Merchandise Marks Bill. It is being circulated today.

Could the Taoiseach say what day we will meet next week?

I think we will start on Tuesday next week and every Tuesday from now on. Possibly other days as well.
