Vol. 241 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Non-delivery of Letter.

346.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why an Irish citizen (name supplied) had a letter addressed to his daughter who is working in a government hospital in Libya returned to him by the postman without being sent out of the country.

The letter in question was returned to the sender because my Department had been informed by the Libyan postal administration, via the Universal Postal Union, that the postal services between Libya and other countries had been temporarily suspended. The services have since been restored.
