Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Houses.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether there are any proposals before his Department for the provision of a housing site in St. Margarets, County Dublin.

A public local inquiry into an objection to a compulsory purchase order by Dublin County Council for the acquisition of a housing site of five acres at Shallon and Corrstown in the St. Margarets area was opened on the 3rd November, 1969. Because of objections at the inquiry that effluent from a housing scheme on the site would pollute the nearby river and render it unsuitable for watering cattle it was necessary to adjourn the inquiry to enable the Dublin County Council to have detailed tests carried out on the quality and rate of flow of the water in the river. These tests are in hands and as soon as they have been completed and evaluated the inquiry will be resumed.
