Vol. 243 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Housing Schemes.

36.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether plans have been submitted to his Department by Dublin County Council for approval for development works and house plans at Clondalkin; and, if so, when he intends to sanction such plans.

Such plans have been submitted to my Department. I have approved the council's proposals for development works, but I have asked for economies in the house plans, owing to the high estimated cost of the scheme. A review of the house plans will not entail any delay in the scheme, as the council intend to proceed, initially, with development works only.

37.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he intends to sanction the tender submitted by Dublin County Council for the construction of 48 local authority houses and 12 local authority flats at Ballymun, County Dublin, in view of the very large number of housing applicants in this area.

38.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he intends to sanction the tender submitted by Dublin County Council for the construction of 40 local authority houses, six flats and eight sites for private houses at Ashtown, County Dublin, in view of the very large number of housing applicants in this area.

I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 37 and 38 together.

Proposals for the acceptance of tenders for these schemes are under consideration in my Department. A decision on them will be given by me as soon as possible.
