I am not aware that the position is as stated by the Deputies. Every effort is made by my Department to ensure that letters received in connection with social welfare benefits are dealt with expeditiously. Having regard to the very large volume of correspondence received some delay may arise from time to time in individual instances and if the Deputies are interested in any particular cases I will have them examined if they submit particulars.
