Members of the authority are appointed by the Government. When the Broadcasting Authority Bill was before this House in March, 1960, the then Minister for Posts and Telegraphs made a statement to the effect that it was not the intention of the Government to appoint members of the authority to represent sectional, political or other particular interests. No departure from this policy is contemplated.
