Vol. 244 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Director of Forensic Psychiatry.

11.

Dr. Browne, Mr. M. O'Leary

andDr. O'Connell asked the Minister for Health whether a director of forensic psychiatry has been appointed to the Dublin Health Authority; and, if so, when he is expected to take up duty.

As I stated in reply to a question on 25th November, 1969, the Local Appointments Commissioners have recommended to the Dublin Health Authority a candidate for appointment to a post of clinical director in the psychiatric service operated by the Dublin Health Authority, the appointee to which may be given special responsibility in the field of forensic psychiatry.

The candidate recommended has not yet indicated to the Health Authority when he will be able to take up duty and the health authority has recently made an order requiring him to take up duty not later than 3rd May, 1970, failing which he will forfeit the right to appointment.
