Pedestrian crossings are provided by a local authority at the request, or with the consent, of the Garda Commissioner. My Department is involved only when Road Fund assistance is sought towards the cost of providing such crossings. There is no proposal before my Department in connection with the provision of pedestrian crossings in Cashel.
