Vol. 244 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Fire Station.

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received any proposals for the erection of a fire station at North Strand Road, Dublin; and, if so, if he considers that site suitable for such a purpose in view of the volume of traffic in the area.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 31, 32 and 33 together.

A compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of properties of 1? acres in area for the purpose of the widening and improvement of a short section of North Strand Road and East Wall Road and for the provision of a fire brigade station is under consideration in my Department and I shall have every effort made to have it determined as soon as possible.

Apart from this order, there are no proposals before my Department at present for improving the road between Clontraf railway bridge, North Strand Road, and the city centre or for the erection of a fire station at North Strand.
