Vol. 244 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Corporation Employees.

30.

asked the Minister for Local Government what action has been taken by the Dublin Corporation to make up wages or salaries of their employees recently called to the reserve; and if there are any sections of employment there in which deficiencies have not yet been met.

Local authorities were authorised by circular letter of the 29th August, 1969, from my Department, to make good to their employees, who were called out on service with the Defence Forces, any loss arising as between their Army pay and their normal rate of pay as local authority employees. I am not aware of any instances where this has not been done.

If I bring instances to the Minister's attention will he do something about it?

I will take it up with the authorities concerned.
