Vol. 244 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Anglo-Irish Trade Agreement.

15.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the loss to this country to date in respect of breaches by the British Government of the Anglo-Irish Free Trade Agreement in respect of butter and cheese.

The butter quota arrangement was in operation before the Free Trade Area Agreement was negotiated and specific provision for its continuance is made in the agreement, under which the quota has, of course, since been substantially increased.

With regard to cheese I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a question by Deputy Tom O'Donnell on 26th March, 1969.
