It is hoped to launch the Asgard for the 1970 season about the middle of March. A training weekend at Dún Laoghaire is then planned after which the vessel will leave for Cork. Following a brief stay there, the vessel will sail around the south and west coasts, with a number of calls to port, until she arrives in Burtonport on 9th May. She then returns to Dún Laoghaire and the remainder of the season will consist largely of training weekends as well as trips to Scotland, Wales and England and participation in a number of international races which includes two to France and one to Spain.
