Vol. 246 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dalkey (Dublin) School.

32.

asked the Minister for Education if he will sanction a construction grant for a second classroom extension at St. Patrick's No. 2 national school, Dalkey, County Dublin, in view of the fact that in July, 1970, the school will have 161 children on its roll for the new curriculum.

33.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the need for an extension of two rooms to St. Patrick's No. 2 national school, Dalkey, County Dublin; and if, in view of the increase in the number of children on the roll there, he will sanction the proposal.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 32 and 33 together.

A grant towards the cost of the provision of a prefabricated classroom at St. Patrick's No. 2 national school, Dalkey, has been sanctioned by my Department. The enrolment at the school at present does not warrant the provision of a second classroom but the future trend is being investigated.

The provision of a general purposes room at this school will be considered in the light of the results of the investigation into the probable future enrolment in the school.

Will the Minister be in a position to communicate to myself and Deputy Cosgrave the results of that investigation?

Yes, certainly.
