asked the Minister for Justice if extra gardaí are being sent to the Garda District of Sligo-Leitrim as much extra duty has to be attended to, such as the protection of banks and the control of increasing traffic in all towns.
With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 61 and 62 together. I have no proposals from the Commissioner regarding changes in policing arrangements in the Sligo-Leitrim Division of the Garda Síochána.
The present strength and distribution of the Force in that Division, as elsewhere, are being reviewed by the Research and Planning Unit of the Garda Síochána, and I cannot at this stage indicate what changes, if any, will be made in the future.
