asked the Minister for External Affairs if having regard to the dangers to world peace arising from the involvement of any armed forces of external powers in the Middle East warfare, he will cause or support action to be taken in the United Nations to dissuade the major powers from permitting any members of their armed forces to participate in military operations in that region.

As I indicated in my statement in the Dáil on 19th March last, the Government are doing everything they can through the United Nations to promote peace in the Middle East.
