Vol. 247 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Powdered Milk Factory.

39.

andMr. T. O'Donnell asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the present position of the proposed powdered milk factory for Tipperary town where there is now a large number of unemployed.

There is already a milk powder factory in Tipperary town, which provides seasonal employment for about 40 people. Negotiations for the purchase by the local co-operative societies of this factory and the other interests of the Dairy Disposal Company in the Tipperary area have taken place between the societies and the company and I understand that, while provisional agreement was reached, further studies in the matter are now being carried out on behalf of the co-operative societies.
