Vol. 247 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Road.

90.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will declare the main road from Tralee to Dingle a secondary road as it is the principal road to the Kerry Gaeltacht.

The routes which it is proposed should form the national primary and national secondary road networks were notified to all road authorities and publicly announced in July, 1969. Following this, representations were received from road authorities, public representatives and other interested parties questioning various details in relation to the routes. A review of the network was undertaken by the Department in the light of these representations and the results of this review have already been notified to the appropriate road authorities. No representations were received in relation to the route in which the Deputy is interested but I am satisfied that the addition of the route to the national secondary network would not be warranted.
