The latest year preceding the commencement of the Occupational Injuries Act for which data are available is 1966. The information requested by the Deputy in respect of 1966 is shown in the following table:
NUMBER of cases of fatal accidents in which workmen's compensation was paid by insurance companies and certain large uninsured employers in 1966, distinguishing nature of case and whether industrial or agricultural, and showing amount of compensation paid.

2. The annual fee of Chairman of the Boards is as follows:

(iii) Chairman of CIE—£1,500 a year.

(v) Chairman of ESB—£7,000 a year.
3. The terms of appointment of the Chairmen and Board members of CIE, ESB, Bord Fáilte Éireann and Bord na Móna provide for payment of such travelling and subsistence allowances as are appropriate to a Civil Servant of the highest grade.
4. A number of Board members are also chief executives of the companies concerned. They were appointed by their respective companies and no information is available about their remuneration.
