Vol. 247 No. 11

Written Answers. - Contributing Rating Authorities.

96.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state in expansion of a reply of 11.6.70 (a) the contributing rating authorities in the functional area of Dublin Health Authority, (b) the rating authorities in the functional area of the appropriate health board under the Health Act, 1970, (c) if the rating authorities not within the Dublin Health Authority functional area will benefit from a pro-rata subsidy arising from the value (£250,000) of Dublin lands or if the Dublin rating authorities may require this £250,000 for health purposes for the inhabitants of the existing Dublin Health Authority area.

(a) The contributing rating authorities in the case of the Dublin Health Authority are Dublin Corporation, Dublin County Council and Dún Laoghaire Corporation.

(b) The rating authorities in the functional area of the proposed Eastern Health Board are the above and the Kildare and Wicklow County Councils.

(c) I cannot say: this, as indicated by my reply of 11th June, 1970, will depend on the terms of the agreement or determination on the proportions in which liability to pay contributions will be divided between rating authorities. The Dublin rating authorities will not, however, be in a position to require that any facilities provided by spending the sum in question will be reserved to Dublin residents.
