NOTES: In 1942 counties were divided into two classes and a number of county managers had personal salaries. A third class—managers for grouped counties—was added in 1946.
The salary for the Class I counties was applied to the Class II counties in 1952 and a standard scale for all counties including grouped counties was adopted as from 1/1/53.
Amounts paid in 1969-70 in respect of expenses or allowances are not available in the Department.
