Vol. 248 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fermoy TV Reception.

81.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that, in spite of repeated questions since March, 1966, regarding poor TV reception in Fermoy town, no action seems to have been taken; if he will have the matter investigated; and if, in view of the fact that the reception appears to be getting progressively worse, he will have the matter dealt with as a matter of urgency.

The improvement of television reception is primarily a matter for Radio Telefís Éireann. I am advised by the authority that a programme for the provision of low power transposers is being prepared to deal with the remaining pockets of poor reception throughout the country. Fermoy is first on the list for attention and the authority expects to have solved reception problems in Fermoy by the middle of next year.
