I am informed by CIE that, following a special sales campaign initiated by them in April last, there has been a sharp upswing in US bookings during June and July which are substantially above those experienced during the same period last year. The inflow of bookings is such that, if the present rates can be maintained until the end of this month, the number of passengers booked will be on a par with the figure up to the end of July, 1969.
I am informed by Bord Fáilte that future prospects for coach tour traffic generally are good.
