asked the Minister for Education if he will state in respect of the financial years 1965-66, 1966-67, 1967-68, 1968-69, 1969-70 and 1970-71 (estimates provided for) in relation to (1) secondary schools, (2) secondary top schools, (3) vocational (post-primary schools) and (4) comprehensive schools (a) the number that expanded accommodation, (b) the number that applied for building grants, (c) the number whose applications were sucessful and (d) the total capital commitment of the Government arising from the successful applications.
Since progress in relation to school building projects from the time applications for grants are made to the building work stage extends over a number of years, information in the form requested could not be furnished on a year by year basis. The information on the appended tables, other than details of capital expenditure, is therefore being given on a global basis for the full period in question.
