Vol. 248 No. 14

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 6 and Questions from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

May I ask the Taoiseach whether he is now satisfied that every possible manoeuvre has been gone through in the bank strike and that it is now time for the Government to intervene?

That does not arise at this stage.

It is the most urgent matter of public importance. There is no more important public matter in the country at the moment.

I am not going to intervene.

The Deputy gave no notice. He should have given notice before the Dáil met.

The question of notice on a matter like this——

I refer the Deputy to the text of my speech yesterday.

There was a statement made by Mr. Grey that all possible methods had been exhausted now on behalf of the banks——

The Deputy is out of order. The matter cannot be discussed now.
