Motor cycling safety is included in the continuous programme of road safety propaganda sponsored by my Department and the Safety First Association of Ireland and the value of protective helmets as an aid to crash injury prevention has been and will continue to be stressed through educational films and literature. The question of evolving a standard for such helmets is constantly under consideration in the light of international developments in this regard.
