Vol. 248 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Longford Bridge.

95.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he proposes to have the Bailey Bridge at Lanesboro, County Longford, replaced by a permanent structure as the noise made by the bridge is a source of great annoyance to residents in the Lanesboro area and is also retarding the progress of Lanesboro as a tourist resort because boating parties will not remain overnight because of the unbearable noise.

Plans for a replacement bridge were approved by my Department on 5th November, 1969, and the execution of the work is now a matter for Roscommon County Council in the first instance.
