Vol. 249 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Grants.

41.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the amounts of grants of State moneys paid to date to a company (name supplied).

Grants by the Industrial Development Authority totalling £120,000 have been paid to the company named made up of £115,000 in new industry grants and £5,000 training grant.

Is the Minister satisfied that this company are currently in a viable position?

They are not expanding as satisfactorily as I would like.

Is the Minister further aware that this company's registered office is at Sutton House, Dublin?

I am not.

I am not trying to lead the Minister. Could the Minister state where is the registered office of the company?

The point is that there is no relationship between this company and Sutton House, and never has been.

Could I ask the Minister in the public interest to give us the name of the company?

That is a separate question.

In the public interest it would be as well not to give the name of the company.

I put down the question and unfortunately I am not allowed under the rules of the House to name the company within a Dáil Question. Therefore, I must ask the Minister if this company, Precious Woods Ltd., Donegal, have any Members of the House associated with them, and where is their registered office?

The Deputy's question relates to grants only. Anything else is not in order.

Could the Minister give us more information? Could he confirm this?

That is a separate question.

The Deputy has named the company. The registered office is at Milford, County Donegal.

The name of the company is Precious Woods Ltd.?

The Deputy mentioned that. Yes.

Is there any Member of the House or any relative of such Member directly associated with that company?

That does not arise on the Deputy's question which deals with the amount of grant paid to the company.

I have no information that any Member of this House or any relative of a Member of this House is a director——

It does not arise on the question. The Deputy has not asked that in the question.

Is the Minister satisfied that all precautions are being taken regarding the economic viability of the company's position at the present time?

That is also a separate question.
