asked the Minister for Health how many patients are on the list awaiting (1) surgical treatment, (2) orthopaedic treatment, (3) ENT treatment, (4) paediatric treatment, (5) radiological investigation, (6) gynaecological treatment and (7) physiotherapist treatment in the counties of (a) Offaly, (b) Laois, (c) Westmeath and (d) Longford at any recent convenient date.

As the information requested is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

(a) The waiting list for physiotherapy for Offaly patients on the date in question was unusually high, as the health authority have been unable, despite repeated attempts, to fill two vacant posts of physiotherapist.

(b) All cases of an urgent nature are admitted to a county hospital or to an extern institution without delay.
