Vol. 249 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reopening of Dublin Railway Line.

9.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if there is any possibility of the Harcourt Street-Bray railway line being reopened even in part as a means to reducing growing traffic volume on the roads.

I am advised by CIE that apart from the physical and engineering problems involved, the information available regarding potential traffic from the areas formerly served by the line shows that reopening would have little or no effect on the relief of traffic congestion on the roads.

You have knocked down all the bridges.

They could be built again.

What good would that do? Fianna Fáil would build them and knock them down again.
