On 9th December, 1970, the numbers detained in Mountjoy Prison, Portlaoise Prison and St. Patrick's Institution were 372, 150 and 220 respectively.
Departmental examination of the applications for Christmas parole has not yet been completed.
How long will that take?
I think it generally would be completed by about 16th or 17th December.
