asked the Minister for Local Government the reasons for the delay in filling the position of Dublin county engineer with a permanent appointment; and when this appointment is likely to be made.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin County Engineer.

The making of a permanent appointment to the office of county engineer is a matter for the local authority, on the recommendation of the Local Appointments Commissioners. I understand that Dublin County Council have not yet sent a statutory request for a recommendation to the Local Appointments Commissioners pending consideration by the local authority of their engineering organisation generally and accordingly it is not possible to say, at this stage, when a permanent appointment will be made.
