Before I take the first question I should like to refer to the matter raised by Deputy Hogan this morning in regard to the Interim Report of the Committee of Public Accounts. I have since received the advice of the Attorney General, which is that it would be desirable to have the matter of privilege for the purpose of the Committee covered by legislation and that it might be possible to have the other matter, that is the compelling of witnesses, also covered. I am awaiting a draft of legislation and, if it is approved, I shall undertake to have it circulated so that it will be available to the House first thing in the morning. The Government have not, of course, yet considered it.
