Vol. 251 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospital Secretary.

2.

asked the Minister for Health why the secretary of a hospital (details supplied) is treated by the Hospitals' Commission as of lesser status than a grade III clerk; and if he will take steps to rectify the position.

My sanction has been conveyed to the Hospitals' Commission for implementation of a pay award to the general body of voluntary hospital secretaries, including the secretary mentioned in the question who will now receive an annual salary in excess of that payable to a grade III clerk in that service.

Could the Minister say when a decision is likely to be given?

I am afraid I could not. I have not got the exact date.
