Vol. 251 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cabinet Ministers' Personal Interests.

1.

asked the Taoiseach if there exists any Government policy or decision regarding his part in communicating to prospective members of the Cabinet, prior to their acceptance of office and ratification by Dáil Éireann of their nominations, that they should cease to hold for the duration of their office personal interests in commercial, industrial and land concerns which could conflict with the interests of the State.

On his appointment, each Minister and Parliamentary Secretary is advised of a decision by the Government that no person occupying such an office should engage in any activities whatever that could reasonably be regarded as interfering, or being incompatible, with the full and proper discharge by him of the duties of his office.
