Vol. 252 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Beef Cattle Incentive Scheme.

39.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries how long the current application of a person (name supplied) for grants under the beef cattle incentive scheme has been under consideration by his Department; the reasons for the delay in making payment; and when he expects payment to be made.

The application referred to by the Deputy has been under consideration since the second official herd test inspection took place on 20th October, 1970. Payment of grants has been deferred pending completion of investigations in the case. A decision will be made on the case very shortly.

40.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries (a) the number of applicants under the beef cattle incentive scheme in County Waterford and (b) the amount of subsidy paid out in the year 1970 to each of the following acreage groups: 0-30, 30-60, 60-100 and over 100.

The number of applicants under the beef cattle incentive scheme in County Waterford in 1970 was 500 approximately. The information sought by the Deputy in the second part of the question is not available as applicants are not required to state the area of their holdings.
