Vol. 252 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary School.

38.

asked the Minister for Education why Burncourt school, Cahir, County Tipperary, is not a three-teacher school in view of the number of children attending it.

The enrolment figure in this school is no longer sufficiently high for the retention of a third teacher.

Can the Minister say how many children are needed for a three-teacher school?

For a first appointment 80 on the rolls. For a succession appointment 70. The average in this school is 61.
