Vol. 253 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Corporation Dwellings.

40.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of sub-standard Dublin Corporation dwellings; their location; and what factors determine whether or not a dwelling is sub-standard.

I understand from Dublin Corporation that they regard 493 of the 54,000 dwellings provided by them as sub-standard. These dwellings are located at Benburb Street (146), Foley Street and Corporation Place (272), Mount Pleasant Buildings (57) and Hollyfield Buildings (18). The corporation regard as sub-standard any of their dwellings which has not got, for the separate use of the occupants, an internal water-supply, sink and water-closet.

The remaining questions will appear on tomorrow's Order Paper.

In view of the vague and unsatisfactory reply from the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries to Question No. 17, no doubt influenced by the peculiar circumstances surrounding my question, I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to raise the matter on the Adjournment.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.
