Vol. 253 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Estate.

41.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will consider acquiring the Donnellan estate, Park East, Kilkerrin, Ballinasloe, County Galway.

Possession of this holding passed to the Land Commission on the migration of the owner to a new holding elsewhere.

Composite resale proposals have been formulated for this and two other holdings acquired by the Land Commission in the locality, aggregating 56 acres. It is hoped that allocation will be effected this season.

42.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission have accepted the offer made by the purchaser of the Wilson-Wright estate at Ballycannon, Kilcock, County Kildare, to resell the estate to the Land Commission at the price paid by the purchaser; and, if the Land Commission have accepted the offer, what progress has been made in having the lands made available to local small-holders.

No such offer has been made by the purchaser of this estate. However, I shall arrange to have the matter brought to the attention of the Land Commission.

I find it very difficult to understand the Minister's reply because other Deputies in the constituency and I were at a meeting at which it was quite clear to us that the purchaser had made this offer. I would ask the Minister to look into the matter.
