Vol. 253 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lead Poisoning.

10.

asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to a report (details supplied) in relation to the incidence of lead poisoning; and if he will state his views on this matter and the measures he is taking to deal with the problem.

I have seen and read the report in detail. I am having it studied by my advisers and have brought it to the attention of other Ministers concerned.

However, lest any public unease be created by the reference to lead pollution of the environment I think it only reasonable to make the following quote from the article to which the Deputy has drawn attention and it is as follows:

There has been no known case of lead poisoning from the widespread general pollution to which everyone is exposed.
