I understand that RTE have been examining various possible locations for the new transmitter required in replacement of the existing one which is due for renewal. As regards the second part of the question I am advised that although a final decision has not yet been taken it is unlikely that relocation of the transmitter would involve a change of headquarters for staff at present based in Athlone.
