Vol. 253 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dodder River Weir.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government what action is being taken to prevent the further deterioration of the appearance of the age old weir at Firhouse on the River Dodder by nearby unauthorised development (details supplied) and to restore the landscape to the condition it was in before the unauthorised development.

Action in relation to such an allegation is a matter for the planning authority, and enforcement proceedings under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, in respect of unauthorised development is a matter for the planning authority in the first instance. There is no information available in my Department to support any action by me. I would suggest that the Deputy's question should more appropriately be addressed to the planning authority.
