Vol. 253 No. 8

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 4, 27 and 1 on the Order Paper.

(Cavan): On the Order of Business, can the Taoiseach say when it is proposed to proceed with No. 41, the Local Government (Planning and Development) (No. 2) Bill, 1969, which has been on the Order Paper for a couple of years?

I cannot say offhand. If the Deputy gave me notice of this I might be in a position to answer. It is one of about 20 Bills on the Order Paper and I could not say exactly what will happen to each one of them.

(Cavan): It is there since 1969.

Could the Taoiseach say when the Minister's and Secretaries (Amendment) Bill, 1971, will be introduced? We were promised it early in April.

Very soon, I hope. Again I cannot say. If Deputies gave notice to the Whips we could give them precise answers or nearly precise answers.

(Cavan): I am giving the Taoiseach notice now.

Can the Taoiseach say when the general election will be held?

I would require notice of that question, too, I expect.
