Vol. 253 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Estate.

45.

asked the Minister for Lands why small farmers in the area were not, as promised by a Land Commission official, interviewed in connection with the disposal of the Agnes Murphy Estate of 204 acres at Hollymount, Castlebridge, County Wexford; and why the Land Commission did not acquire the estate in order that it might be divided amongst these farmers whose holdings could not be said to be economic.

Some years ago inquiries were made regarding this property but, because of the personal circumstances of the owner, it was decided not to proceed further in the matter at the time.

It is understood that these lands were recently sold by public auction. The Land Commissioners are now having up-to-date inquiries made in the matter.
