Vol. 253 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Offaly Bridge.

84.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the position in regard to the construction of a new bridge over the River Shannon at Shannon Bridge, County Offaly; whether he is aware of the necessity to erect this bridge with the least possible delay since the present structure is unsatisfactory and a great hindrance to tourist development in the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The project to reconstruct this bridge is under consideration.

I am not aware that the present structure causes serious inconvenience or that it is a hindrance to tourist development.
