Vol. 253 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Gaeltacht School.

34.

asked the Minister for Education if his Department has before it proposals for the establishment of an Irish speaking post-primary school in the Rathearn Gaeltacht to cater for all County Meath; if so, for how long; and when the school is likely to be in operation.

No such proposals have been received in my Department.

Is the Minister aware that there is widespread belief among local people in the Rathcarn Gaeltacht that as far back as the tenure of office of one of his predecessors, the late Donogh O'Malley, there were proposals for a comprehensive Irish-speaking school under active consideration in his Department?

I am not so aware.

Will the Minister conduct an on-the-spot investigation in his Department?
