Vol. 253 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Life-Saving Service.

88.

asked the Minister for Local Government what arrangements are made for life-saving at Fethard-on-Sea, County Wexford, particularly during the summer period; and if he is satisfied that the service is adequate.

The making of adequate arrangements for life-saving at Fethard-on Sea is a matter for Wexford County Council who are empowered to employ life-guards and provide life-saving equipment at bathing places in their district. I have asked the Irish Water Safety Association, which I set up recently, to consult with sanitary authorities with a view to giving such advice as may be necessary with regard to the arrangements at any place in respect of which the sanitary authority desires such advice.
