Vol. 254 No. 3

Questions—Ceisteanna. Oral Answers. - Ferrybank (Wexford) Development.

74.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will make a statement on the future development of Ferrybank, Wexford as a tourist amenity resort; and what work will be undertaken at Ferrybank during the present financial year.

The initiative for further development of the Ferrybank site rests with Wexford Corporation. The only proposal affecting the site at present before me is an application from the corporation for a further amenity grant towards the cost of a protective wall on the seward side of the site. This application is still under consideration. The position regarding the proposed swimming pool on the site has not altered since my reply to the Deputy's question of 11th February, 1971. I have no information about any works proposed to be undertaken by the corporation at Ferrybank in the current year.
