Vol. 254 No. 3

Questions—Ceisteanna. Oral Answers. - Cork Telephone Booth.

87.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has any proposals currently before him for the erection of a public telephone booth in the vicinity of Fields Corner, Albert Road area, Cork; and if, in view of the inadequacy of the current facilities for some 1,000 residents in this area, he will investigate the feasibility of this proposal.

There are no current proposals for the erection of a public telephone kiosk in the area in question which is regarded as being adequately served by the existing kiosks at Albert Quay and Marina Park.

If details were submitted to the Minister would he be prepared to have another look at the situation because many of the local residents have expressed very serious concern about the effect of traffic on the public telephone there?
